What to do when a death occurs...
... At Home
If someone dies at home unexpectedly, call the Ambulance immediately.
If the death was expected and the person has been treated for a terminal illness by a doctor, call the doctor to come and confirm the death and complete a Death Certificate.
Once the doctor has been, call Bethel Funerals on 1300 BETHEL (1300 238435) to arrange for the transfer of your loved one to our mortuary facility – we are on call 24/7.
... In a Hospital or Nursing Home
When a loved one enters a Hospital or Nursing Home, nominate Bethels Funerals as your preferred Funeral Director.
When the death occurs, the hospital or Nursing Home will contact us to transfer your loved one to our mortuary facility.
At a suitable time, we will contact you to make arrangements for the funeral.
... Suddenly
In the event of a sudden death, the Police and a Coroner will become involved.
Call Bethel Funerals as soon as you are ready to make funeral arrangements and we will liaise with the Coroner before transferring your loved one to our mortuary facility.
