I would like to honour Grandma Fletcher as I reflect of her selfless love. She was the key sponsor to our family and hundreds of others from our refugee camp and tirelessly helped us settle in Melbourne. Our family would go to Syndal church every Sunday in gratitude towards her. It was there that we met Jesus and got saved. We would visit her after church every Sunday, ate biscuits and prayed with her. Every year we'd get a big box full of clothes, food and toys. If we ever needed furniture, she'll get her contacts to find and deliver it to us. We knew that there were many other families she looked after. Our story is just but one. She will be remembered by the thousands of lives she cared and impacted, many from the Vietnamese and Cambodian communities in Australia and overseas. Today at her funeral, she wanted everyone to know that God is faithful. He was faithful in hers and will be faithful in ours. We finished with these verses. “Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;” ??Lamentations? ?3:22-25? ?
