Creating Hope From Sadness

Bethel Funerals is an independently owned, not-for-profit funeral home. It has been built upon the principles of Christian love and compassion. Not only do we wish to bring hope into the hearts of the families and friends to whom we directly minister, but also reach the lives of those who endure hardship.

For this reason we pass on all of our profits to support Christian mission, Humanitarian and community work. By simply allowing Bethel to help you through your time of need, you are also spreading hope and making a lasting difference to many other families.

Honouring Legacies

When arranging a funeral with us, your loved one will be valued and honoured by our services, and the seeds of their legacy will continue to spread and grow to bring hope to the hearts of those whom they never even met. As a family member, you can choose where this real contribution will be directed, and how their legacy will live on and change the future of so many.

“The calm, professional care I received made the arrangements smooth and the experience a delight. Mal listened, asked clarifying questions responded to random questions, explained all the unknowns in simple and clear language. I felt Mal understood and cared deeply. He did not complicate or oversell – he provided information, explained options, shared experience, I felt totally supported and respected.”

“All the possibilities were offered but no pressure to take them up. First meeting was not rushed. Mal was respectful, organised but unobtrusive on the day. Planning meeting was comprehensive, responses to queries were timely, assistance with organisation was helpful. Mal treated us with kindness and understanding. He was thorough and organised. The gentleman on sound was similarly helpful and organised and together they ensure that everything ran smoothly as planned.”

Susan M – January 2021

“Sympathy and empathy that was shown to me and my family is above it all. I honestly have no words just keep up the great work. Mal was excellent I cannot thank you enough.”

Millie W – January 2021

“The meeting with Sharyn was professional, informative and helpful. The service ran very smoothly and was a great tribute to our mother. Great presentation of photos and music at the service. Everything ran smoothly from the greeting on arrival, to packing up at the end of the service.

Graeme M – January 2021

“Every contact I had with Mal was professional and caring. He was a wonderful support to me, the compassionate presence of Mal and other Bethel staff on the day of the funeral and at the cremation service. Mal was excellent in his organisation of details, and his compassionate, spiritual presence was a comfort.”

Lynette L – February 2021

“Bethel staff were very professional in their dealings with us, helped us plan the service during Covid restrictions so all family members were able to participate. Having used Bethel for my Dad’s funeral which was three years ago during normal times and this year for Mum’s during Covid times, both times staff were very professional and assisted us greatly. I cannot think of anything that needed changing. Thanks :)”

Michelle H – December 2020

“I was contacted the afternoon of my Mother’s passing, and reassured that Mum was at the funeral home, and would be taken care of, and that we would be guided through the process of planning an appropriate farewell. That was very helpful and reassuring. I found Sharyn, Trevor and Mal, who made the initial call, all very helpful.”

Anne B – November 2020

“Mal was so kind and caring. Nothing was too much trouble, he helped us provide Mum with a perfect service celebrating her wonderful life. He along with the entire Bethel team are truly god sent. We felt at ease right from the beginning. Every interaction our family had with Mal, Petra and the team at Bethel was handled with dignified grace, compassion and professionalism. We were so pleased with everything Mal and Bethel did for mum, her service, the AV presentation, the flowers, our celebrant – Mal helped us make all the perfect choices for mum. We can’t thank Mal enough for his care of our family. Petra was very kind and helpful. The experience of the Bethel team shines brightly – such a wonderful group of highly efficient professionals with kind, caring hearts of gold.”

Kathy M – November 2020

“The care and understanding given was outstanding. You listened to us and supported our wishes at all times. Just keep doing what you are doing. Listen to the wishes of your clients and support as best you can. We would recommend you highly to any person in need of your services. Thank you so much for helping to make a sad time so special for me and my family.”

Jan T – November 2020

The staff at Bethel were loving, caring, helpful and supportive throughout the whole process. With my mum being a generous giver over her lifetime, she would have been so happy that any profits from her funeral actually go towards mission work.

I thought every facet of Anne’s funeral was carried out with dignity and understanding.
My children and I were consulted at each stage as to what we wanted and what options we had. This put us all at ease at this most upsetting time and made us feel ‘we were running the show’.
We could not have asked for better. Whatever you are paying them, they deserve a rise!

Ian M – February 2019

The service provided was sensitive and customer focussed. Mum appreciated that it was Christian. Everything was prompt and clear. Mal was lovely. All email contact was lovely. The funeral was just what we wanted and we love that it’s a NFP (not-for-profit) and that we could donate to a charity of our choice. I have been recommending you to everyone!

Ray’s funeral honoured our families wishes. The coordination on the day was smooth and the staff showed care for our family.
All the staff were respectful and sensitive to our family in our acute time of grief. They quietly provided relevant information in a timely manner when we were planning Ray’s funeral. Even though our requests for Ray’s funeral preparation were not the usual, our family requests were easily accommodated.

Helen S – February 2019

The special attention to detail is what Bethel always does well. The personal attention from the staff after the mass to my family was touching.
I really cannot add or comment as the service we received was ever so special. They even allowed dads dogs to bid him farewell at the personal viewing.
Nothing was too difficult and everything that was promised was delivered with a nice touch. I have used bethel Funerals a couple of times previously and the level of Personal care is truly brilliant

Adrian H – March 2019

Samantha was loving and caring over this period, giving the family time to respond to questions and needs and we will be forever grateful to her.
We are all very happy and grateful for all that you did in every way for our beautiful Lisa. God bless you greatly in your work at a very vulnerable time for families in the loss of dear ones.
